POW, BZOT and Mass Spitzensparken!
Behold, an example of what happens when a dual-pole 125×2 amp 240 VAC circuit breaker is exposed to the rain. It was the main disconnect and the weather cover broke off some time ago. A monsoon came through recently with rain blowing sideways. The part where the breaker slides over the contact blades is completely gone, now little bits of burned and melted plastic. Those are serious arc-welding power levels and makes one appreciate the power of a home’s electric service.
Cat-ass-trophic failure! The moral of this story is water and electricity really don’t mix, so check those outdoor panels and make sure water can’t get inside.
