Cat Info Resources

Having been a feline steward for many years, I’ve created a list of resources written by educated professionals. You’ll still want to check with your own vet, but I hope this can help you bypass much of the misinformation that exists online.

Website for the American Association of Feline Practitioners:  http://www.catvets.com/cat-owners/caring-for-cats

The Long Beach Animal Hospital presents a lot of info for pet owners:  http://www.lbah.com/word/learning-series  &  http://www.lbah.com/word/ear-cleaning

Another reasonably good site:  http://cats.about.com

Website of Veterinarian Dr. Pierson:  http://www.catinfo.org

For those interested in a more interactive learning experience the Maricopa County Library offers free on-line Veterinarian Assistant classes. It can be done entirely from home on your schedule, takes about six weeks to complete and costs absolutely nothing. You need only a library card and Internet access. You’ll also get a nice certificate of completion so you can show the world you’re a certified cat nut. I did!  http://education.gale.com/l-maricopa
